then, draw a more different integral. [more whining!]

So what's interfering with my ability to do my math problem set is not so much a lack of understanding of the important concepts as a lack of ability to integrate my way out of a paper bag. I'm not quite sure what integrating my way out of a paper bag would entail, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it. Uhoh. Better go see math tutors soon, I guess, maybe -- but even that seems like not quite the right solution, since I'm more or less happy with the ideas, it's just the execution that eludes me...

Hi, again.

I'm back again, randomly commenting. I thought I'd check out your lj, 'cause I know you're at MIT, and as I am a hopeful, I better find out what I've (potentially) landed myself into THIS time. I feel your pain of calculus. I'm taking multivar at Haaahvud, and I know it's no comparison to your course, but I have been confronted lately with a powerful inability to integrate. How embarassing, especially because I just learned it two months ago. Hope it goes well!

I'm actually also experiencing the joy of multivariable at the moment (or, uh, procrastinating on the joy) -- I was really hoping the crippling case of senioritis I had last year during calc class wouldn't come back and kick me, but no such luck.

Hey, you applied early? Good for you! My whining is totally not a fair representation of this place, though, so don't let me scare you. ;) MIT is awesome in all sorts of ways. So good luck with admissions (though I doubt you'll need it). :D

Heh. I have the same problem. Not with integrating specifically, but with converting conceptual understanding into actual execution.
