Went swimming at the Z-center pool with beat_the_beaver this evening... was reminded that I used to be good at that, and that 9-year-old Alison could swim circles around 19-year-old Alison more or less indefinitely, whereas 19-year-old Alison was more or less done after 45 minutes of back-and-forth. But I'm now tired (at 12:20! yikes!) but satified and convinced that I need to do that more often. And also find my goggles.

Sheesh, reading that last paragraph makes me feel really old. Any moment now I'll start breaking out the "back in MY day" stories... ;)

My swimming instructors and friends could never convince me to let go of my nose. Water just kept gushing in, you know? And if I were to rank all the various sensations I've felt in decreasing order by how pleasant they were, water gushing through my nose would be below the halfway mark.

But yeah, swimming one-handed is still fun.
