So I'm really not a Star Wars purist -- I saw Episode 2 before I saw the original trilogy, which I like as movies but don't worship, they're not a central tenet of my childhood, and honestly I sorta liked the bright lights and loud noises and sound and fury of Eps 1&2, cause ooo shiny -- which means just because I really liked it you might not.

R2D2! Even if the only two minutes of the movie were the ones with R2 doing the resourceful thing at the beginning of the movie it would have totally been worth it. Awesome.

Four fricking lightsabers. Oh man. That made me really, really happy.

Fight scenes from, like, everybody who was on screen for more than two minutes. Whee!

And did you notice that no fight scene is over until at least one of the participants is missing at least one arm? Seriously.

Almost no Jar-jar! I thought I didn't mind him all *that* much in the first two prequels, and then I was watching them again with the usual suspects today and I don't know why I didn't go crazy the first time from sheer annoying-ness.

Things blowing up! And spinning around! And being generally shiny! Hurrah!

Continuing with the spoilers (and attempting a cut)
well, somebody loses an arm before the fight is over because, more often than not, that's the only way to neutralize someone--get rid of the lightsaber, which is the equivalent of getting rid of the hand or the arm, because it isn't as if you can nicely ask an opponent in a duel to put down his/her weapon, when they can just call it back using the Force
