Yeah, I have no trouble reading it, but I took a year of C++ in college. Before that, I'd just been an intensive math geek, and I probably could have figured it out just from that, although it probably would have taken me longer. I don't think it's the != operator that's difficult so much as the fact that there are imbedded if statements. Those take a while to work through, if you're not used to them.
