no snow yet, but --

Signs that winter's visible off in the distance somewhere -- two or three static electricity zaps just today: lightswitch, doorknob, computer (eep). I didn't even have my hair down or my leather jacket on or any of the things that usually provoke sparks. Time to kick out the moisturizer and start wearing shoes again.

I am absolutely brokenhearted about having to switch to closed-toe shoes. Sigh...

I know. :( I will have to purchase some real shoes that aren't falling apart at some point... right now I have the brown sketchers that half the soles are literally falling off of last year (why haven't I thrown these out?) and my beloved black boots which are epoxied together and rapidly developing more and more holes... and I think sneakers that may or may not be a size too small. Whee!

I desperately want a new pair of the exact same brown shoes. So comfy, so perfect, so very not on clearance this year like they were when I bought them two years ago. Boo.

Yep. I've got an alert on the style + size...

Lies! you never *have to* switch!

we're starting the rainy season here, it's great!

yes, but squishy sandals &/or cold feet = :(

(ewwww, squishy sandals.)

you're wearing the wrong shoes if your sandals are squishy!

or you could always go barefoot

right! squishy sandals --> forced to start wearing "real" shoes (i am personally partial to those with enough heel to lift one entirely out of the puddle).

i spent most of summer & almost all of september barefoot... tragically though as of yesterday or the day before or something, prime being-a-hippie season is over for me. especially since a normal body temperature is the first thing to go when i'm really tired.
