Went to see Zap! at the Museum of Science -- thoroughly amusing. Loud noises and bright lights and the huge Van de Graff generator which is one of my favorite things ever and bizarre music on a variety of instruments, whee! Practically formulated to hit all my "ooh, cool" buttons in rapid succession. Then the frosh-posse went on a several-hour wander around the museum, which wasn't crowded at all since by that time it was 7:30 or so -- all sorts of fun and big childhood nostalgia. We walked back, furthering my opinion that with every step I take Cambridge gets smaller and smaller. :P Though I really do love being able to get anywhere I need to via walking and/or T'ing -- hurrah!

Classes are going okay -- problem sets all around, of course, tests scheduled and stuff due, onward into the fray and all that. Oh! And (because I am the biggest geek ever) when I saw the Chronicles of Amber comics cheap on ebay I kinda couldn't resist bidding. They came today and I haven't opened them yet, but hopefully they'll be good, or at least so horrible an adaptation that they're funny. ;)

Banana oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are not as strange as they sound, although they could do with more spices (note to self: buy at Star?) and lots more chocolate chips (but everything is better with lots more chocolate chips).

I make cookies on a fairly regular basis. I like making cookies. I do it 'cause it's fun and also mmm cookies. And I like sharing cookies, I like hearing what people think and I really like it when they like them. But at the same time I don't think I'm a horrible person if I'd appreciate people tossing me a thanks when they wander through and grab four. I have lots of other reasons to bake besides the warm and fuzzy gratitude buzz, so I shouldn't spaz about it, and yet... I don't know.

this is the first week in a really long time i haven't baked something to enjoy and share! that's one of my favorite easy things to do, though. when i was vegan (ummm i didn't just give up because i like kraft macaroni and am lazy...) at least three quarters of the things i made had bananas in them because bananas work as an egg replacer! i remember thoose cookies you made for fountain looking really tasty. when i was going to take my road test i was contemplating bringing the trooper a plate of cookies and jameson said "now, they'll think you're bribing them, but really you just do that for everyone" so we decided we'd need cookie witnesses to come too. really i just hate the rmv, and this keyboard on my dad's laptop because it keeps doing funny things. i am in a hotel across the bar from boston - such a pretty view!! but kinda a stupid dark boring place to be on a friday night, hence my rambly lj cookie comment.

Mmm, bananas! But wonderful though they are, they're not much of a main-flavor. :( I thought the cookies I made for Fountain weren't all that aesthetically appealing, but they tasted pretty good, which is the important part. :) The RMV is way frustrating and I keep meaning to go to the cambridge one to get an actual id of some sort that isn't, y'know, expired as of last year -- but I never actually bother getting over there.

Lots of pretty views in Boston! Especially at weird hours -- for various reasons I was up at 5:30 the other morning videotaping clouds and the sunrise behind the skyline -- cloudy, but still lovely. Though if you're ever in Boston and bored again you're more than welcome to call me and come over, though it's unlikely I'll be doing anything more entertaining. :P

I am so back on an Amber kick right now, due to spotting a Corwin pairing on the [livejournal.com profile] ithurtsmybrain pairings list and feeling compelled to sign up. I finally went ahead and bought myself The Illustrated Guide to Castle Amber, because I find myself often lamenting the finite amount of writing Zelazny did in that universe.
