Ten minutes into trying to maul the damn 6.004 lab into submission again and *already* I'm trying to use the mouse on the Athena machine to steer around the pointer on my laptop screen and wondering why it's not working. This is probably not a good sign.

Get help from the LAs/TAs. I found them incredibly useful in that class.

They're really awesome -- but I am unfortunately stubborn and really terrible at deciding what is a point deserving of external help and what I should just bang my head against till it or me is unconscious. Y'know, maybe if I just think about it for a couple more minutes... and try all the possible permutations on this mux *again*...

but the lab is done now, yay!

If you are confused and struggling in a class like that, it's always the right time to seek help from the LAs/TAs, even if your question seems trivial to you. It is not a cop-out - they are helping you understand the material, not doing it for you. And that's what they're being paid to do.
