OK, so how's this for pathetic: this evening, I totally caught myself thinking of ways to get attention. And although realizing that that was in fact my ultimate goal did not actually make me stop, it did make me reject a bunch of plans of action much more quickly and efficiently and resort to an old standby instead.

(And here I didn't even think I liked attention that much.)

In this sense, wanting attention isn't necessarily something you need to apologize to yourself for. It is nice to have a close friendship with the people that matter to you, and there's nothing wrong with trying to encourage that. ^_~
