Adolescent Dream (...a bit of a teenage stalker poem)

We should see art museums together.
I'm fascinated by what you wear
so I know your sense of aesthetic
matches mine.

We should sit side by side at poetry readings.
I think what I read in your eyes
complements the rhythm of
my skipping heart.

We should go dancing, you and I.
When I watch your confident stride
it makes me imagine you
holding me.

We should tour the armory together.
Among myth, legend, and romance
I'll show you the shining armor
I've always imagined you in.

I think the last two lines are semi-conscious rip-offs of Gone With The Wind at the very least, probably a zillion other places. Oh well.

I'm gonna vote for super-realistic rather than cynical. OK, maybe a touch of cynicism. It's good for the soul. In other words, I like it. And I've never heard the last two lines anywhere.
