Not a lot to do at work today, just like all this week. I think the most productive thing I accomplished there all day was filing my nails. Very slowly. For a grand total of about two hours. Did I mention our internet connection there is down? Not only do we not have a net connection to the outside, our internal gateway server thing (too lazy to try to think of proper terminology) is also down. Really really down, the hard drive having fried itself. All sorts of very special problems, including a network card for which the drivers were, of course, online. Uh-oh. So today's big project was watching attempts at fixing it. Yeah.

Oh, and also painstakingly going around to each and every one of the widely-distrubuted new printers and putting paper in. That was fun.

In short, even counting the paper distribution as a legitimate Thing To Do, we were still pretty much out of Things To Do at maybe eleven thirty. Then we sat around for two hours. Then we gave up. I was hoping to get a ride and couldn't and then had to try to call Parentals, and even debated just walking for some time before calling my stepbrother Derek, who is hereby nominated for sainthood for always dealing with me and my "help, I'm stranded AGAIN" calls. So he drove me from school to the library and even listened to me whine about the network problems. Thank you, St. Derek. I really should think of something nice to do for him.

And I didn't sleep well, again, and my bike lock is missing as of last night, so from the first thing this morning I suspect I was being very short with people. Once I start getting annoyed, it seems like every little thing anyone does, even if I'd otherwise just deal, I retain it and stew about it and snap at them and there are probably people I owe apologies but I don't think I'm actually going to apologize, because I suck.

My vacation was, though, wonderful. And at some point I will detail the adventure of my last day in Bar Harbor. It was immensely enjoyable and maybe part of the reason I'm Evil Alison lately is just the post-vacation blues: that was lovely and fun and guess what, now it's time to go back to reality. Blargh.

Anyways.

So, in conclusion, I'm in A Mood and need chocolate amusement. Anyone run across anything funny online lately? Bonus points if it's bitter I-hate-the-world funny, but anything's okay. Book or even movie recommendations are also appreciated (if you're thinking of a film and wondering if I've seen it: I probably haven't, since I rarely see movies) though the odds of me actually getting around to them are slimmer. :P (ETA: Suggestions of things to do while bored out of wits at L-S Inc. (that's an affectionate nickname for the new building, really) are welcome too. I've already got a book and a deck of cards...) Thanks in advance... :)

Dark chocolate is the best. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

As for a movie cure, try Shrek 2, if you haven't already. Hi-lar-ee-ous.

And funny stuff online? Um.. how about this--it should fit your I-hate-the-world funny, since it's the end of the world (http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/end.php).

Okay, so it sorta fits, but bitter humor is tough to find at the moment. =\

signed,
-um, guess?

Ah, you must be my mysterious AIM correspondent, right? Hi!

I'm actually a fan of white chocolate myself. Especially the Lindt truffle things, with the really good chocolate and the soft insides and mmmmmmm... (Watching me eat these, I suspect, is probably amusing, because I really do go "mmmmmmm", multiple times, with varying intonations.)

*g* I have actually seen it before, but I love that end of the world thing. It totally fits. Fcking kangaroos. :D
