Escapades in the computer department:
So guess what we did today at work? ... This, and lots of it.
Can't take any credit -- or blame -- for this one though. (Rather, it's the leftmost of these guys.)

In other news -- omg pretty quiz image! No idea what it *means*, but isn't it shiny?

Witty, amusing and a bit weird, you're welcomed
into most social groups, even though you don't
'fit in' perfectly .

Man, I wanted to be "a bit weird", but I'm just normal.

There's a "you're a total jerk" answer -- can always be glad for missing that one. :P

I like the server room one best, though of course mere pictures can't show the total coolness of the place. I've never seen more little blinky lights in one place before. :D

I missed out on red box thingie fist fights??? Argh, I shoulda stayed home this summer!

Tell the leftmost guy that someday I'll get revenge over the gladiator thing.

And ditto on the social entity thing... which makes a bit more sense when you view all the answers...

hurrah for being "a bit weird", then!

I'm always torn between the silliness of referring to people as "that guy on the left" or with long acronyms or in other cases, even just as "that guy" -- and the, I don't know, rudeness? of revealing names online without the permission or even knowledge of the parties involved. Of course, as in this case said individual I think tends to use his full name online anyways I probably shouldn't worry, but...

The almost-unrelated point I'm sort of circling without approaching would eventually be that I'm actually done at L-S for the summer at this point, with the possible exception of a couple hours one day in August sometime, so I won't be passing on any gladiator references, in spite of how curious I might be about the incident in question.

The red box thingies are, in fact, packing material from our tape backup drive thingie. Yeah, thousands of dollars worth of equipment and the bit everyone immediately dives for is the packaging. Guess the secret's out -- the entire L-S tech team is five years old at heart. :P Did you notice Dave in the background laughing?

Jason sure liked seeing his name online. :P

Today was my last day of work too. Heh. Won't be home 'til the tenth, though.

During Jamaica Jammin', there was an inflatable gladiator thing. Yeah, that one. DarkSchneider, leftmost guy, Felix (who revealed his own name), That Guy, some others and I beat each other up. I kept losing... but with style! I was the best failure present by far. And I shall return when they least expect it. Or something.

And you're on AIM right now. Why the hell am I talking to you here? Aw, well, whatever. :P

'Cause half the time when I'm on AIM it's all a lie -- I leave the program running while I get up to do something quickly, then it becomes many somethings and not nearly as quick, and I get back four hours later and go "hm, I still have instant messenger on, oops" but generally it doesn't matter since nobody IMs me anyways. That's why. Or not. :P

Ohhhh -- I remember that thing. I saw (to keep on with the silly aliases) Felix and That Guy beating each other up a bit and my brother and leftmostguy going at it while I was waiting for the laser tag thing. (Which was horrible and not at all worth the wait. *sigh*)
I was considering earlier how totally embarrassed I would be if That Guy saw certain entries here, then wondered why I put them publicly online if I cared so much about that, and decided the obvious answer was that I didn't care so much, really. So that's all right.
Jason is in a category all by himself, though. In a good way, really. Although maybe my sister [livejournal.com profile] rockopowder is in that category too.

Wow, so there's life in the new LS after all...wow...
(To reduce the creepiness of the moment, you posted on my very first lj post....)

Yup, there's life. Though actually everyone pictured is now on vacation and out of the building... I'm sure the building will gain a pulse once the actual school year starts, but it does look kind of skeletal, doesn't it?

And creepiness? Pffft. You're not creepy. :)

I'm not creepy, huh?
That's just what I want you to think
(Should I be insulted?)
And what's with the non-demolition of the old L-S? Glass hallway's nearly gone, and it looks like they've done something to Gym 1, but nothing has really changed, at least from the road's eye view...

No, you're not creepy at all. The weirdest comment I've ever gotten was when I wrote a loooong entry involving a bunch of personal stuff, and then also had a link to an article entirely unrelated to said stuff. Evidently the author of the article had been looking at where people had linked to him, and found said entry, and wrote a nice note saying thanks for the link and I hope your personal stuff goes well. It wasn't creepy, precisely, but it was pretty strange.

I've got no idea why they haven't knocked down more of the old building... you people who want the parking spots may yet be sorely disappointed. :P [livejournal.com profile] shaktool snuck in the old building and took pictures a week or two ago, if you're curious (http://www.nescon.net/ls/); the carnage appears to be relatively limited inside as well as out. Relatively.
