This in spite of the 18.02 problem set of EVIL. I like math, I thought I was good at it by normal-people standards and at least sorta-average by MIT-geek standards. But this homework is just beating me up left and right. *sigh* Yeah -- I like math but I don't like calculus. Is that allowed?

Date: 2004-09-15 06:00 am (UTC)Two days ago I said to an international girl from China that I didn't like Calculus. She was stunned. "At my school, the type of people who were into computer science were the people who liked math. I thought all CS majors liked math." At that point I explained that Calculus was just my least favorite part of math, and that I didn't hate the whole thing, which seemed to satisfy her...
She seemed very knowledgeable about "types of people". Apparently, she could tell by looking at me that I was from northeastern US.
